Virtual Knitting Lounge!

Virtual Knitting Lounge!

🌊 Join us in the Knitmas in July House of Refuge

Some of the best moments in Knitmas in July happen between the rows.

Someone holds up a finished shawl.

Someone else says, "Wait...what yarn is that?"

A book recommendation gets added to an already-too-long TBR list.

Someone's dog/cat/child/SO wanders through the camera.

A knitter who's been quietly working away finally says hello.

A connection is made and a lifelong friendship begins.

Those little moments are what make this community feel like home.

So for one day only, we're creating a place where those moments can happen all day long.

Welcome to the Knitmas in July House of Refuge.

What's the House of Refuge?

Think of it as a pop-up virtual knitting lounge.

We'll open the doors five different times throughout Friday, giving you plenty of chances to stop in whenever it fits your day.

Noon β€’ 2 PM β€’ 4 PM β€’ 6 PM β€’ 8 PM ET (New York, US)

Check out World Time Buddy to see times in your time zone.

Each gathering will last about an hour.

Come for five minutes.
Stay for sixty.
Drop back in later if you'd like.

What Happens There?

This is our first time hosting an event like this, so we'll find out together!

The best conversations rarely follow an agenda, so we threw ours overboard.πŸ˜‰

Our best guess is:

We knit.

We admire each other's progress.

We enable each other's yarn habits.Β

We compare notes on books.

We answer questions.

We laugh.

We celebrate finished objects.

We encourage the person who's convinced they "messed it up" (you probably didn't).

We weave in our ends while we have the encouragement of our fellow knitters to bolster us.πŸ˜‚

What to Bring

🧢 Your Knitmas in July project (or any knitting project!)

β˜• Your emotional support beverage.

πŸ“š That book you can't stop recommending.

😊 Your camera and microphone...or not! You're welcome to participate however you feel most comfortable.

We'll also have breakout rooms available if smaller conversations naturally form around books, techniques, yarn, travel, or whatever else comes up.

A Place to Come Ashore

The original Houses of Refuge offered shelter to weary travelers along the coast.

For one Friday, ours will offer something a little different:

A friendly place to slow down and knit a few rows.

To admire beautiful projects and laugh with fellow knitters.

To refill your creative cup before heading back into the rest of your day.

The House of Refuge will be open.

I hope you'll stop by.

We'll save you a seat. πŸ’™

xo,
Becky
