The Twelve Days of Knitmas Mystery Knit-Along(MKAL) is our annual let’s-spend-this-awkward-post-holiday-time-knitting-together-and-shaking-off-the-stress-of-the-season MKAL.
Simply put, it’s a twelve-day mystery knit-along full of fun and friendship, and at the end, you have a beautiful project to gift or keep.
The Twelve Days of Knitmas MKAL is for everyone, from adventurous beginners to seasoned experts.
Video tutorials are available throughout the MKAL, and the community is a fantastic source of support!
Use one of our gorgeous Knitmas Kits (each one comes with a sweet little gingerbread house gift box🤩), or knit from your stash.
How do we get the clues?
Purchase your pattern here or on Ravelry. Upon purchase, you will receive the Day Zero PDF via email, and your first clue (pattern) will arrive on December 26th.
* All pattern clues are delivered digitally. You will not receive a printed pattern.
Next, click here to join the Knitmas list. This is where all the magic happens, including tutorials, freebies, and discounts from Nomadic Knits and our collaborators.
Clues are released daily beginning December 26th and concluding on January 6th.

This year’s Knitmas project is a crescent-shaped shawl full of textural and colorwork motifs.
Can you help me choose colorway combinations?
Absolutely! We’ve curated six Knitmas Kits featuring Emma’s Yarn on Super Silky. Buy a kit or use it as a reference when choosing your colors.
You will need three to five different colors of fingering-weight yarn.

Needles: US 5/ 3.75mm needles or the size needle needed to achieve gauge. You will also need needles one size up from your gauge needles if you tend to knit colorwork more tightly. Use your preferred style of needles for knitting flat.
I used US 5/ 3.75mm & US 6/ 4mm 24” & 54" circular needles.
Gauge: Stitch incoming - I'll have this info for you shortly!
Yarn: fingering weight in three to five colors; 724 yards/ 180g total.
Samples knit in: Nomadic Knits Twelve Days of Knitmas 2025 kits.
MC: 1 skein Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino, 20% silk; 400 yards/ 100g)
CCs: 4 skeins Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (80% Superwash Merino, 20% silk; 81 yards/ 20g)
Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, cable needle.
