The Nomadic Knits Story<\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div>

Thanks for visiting Nomadic Knits, a boutique knitting magazine featuring beautifully designed knitwear, local fiber producers, indie dyers, and local yarn shops. Each issue shines a spotlight on a different region of the world and highlights what makes that region special.<\/p>\n

Nomadic Knits was co-created by Becky Beagell and Melissa Kemmerer of Melissa K Designs<\/a> in 2018. Since then, they have published twelve gorgeous magazines, affording them the opportunity to work with talented artists spanning the globe.<\/p>\n

Nomadic Knits is also home to the Twelve Days of Knitmas Mystery Knit-Along<\/em>, which kicks off on December 26th every year. Thousands of knitters from around the world join in to try new techniques, learn from one another, and share their love of knitting. Knitmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year.\ud83c\udfb6 I hope you’ll join us!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Becky began knitting in her twenties, armed with nothing but a cheap pair of needles and Debbie Stoller\u2019s Stitch & Bitch Handbook. She quickly fell in love and hasn\u2019t gone anywhere without a knitting project in her purse since then. We use the term \u201cpurse\u201d loosely. It\u2019s actually more of a suitcase.<\/p>\n

In 2015, Becky opened a yarn shop called The Glitter Ninja in Binghamton, NY, deepening her love and knowledge of all things fiber-related.<\/p>\n

In 2017 Becky\u2019s wanderlust led her to a life on the road with her dog, Bubba. She travels throughout the US in a small RV, racking up the miles and singing along (badly AND loudly) to all her favorite tunes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Bubba specialized in quality control and talent retention along with providing thorough snuggles to all within paws reach from the very beginning of Nomadic Knits until he crossed the rainbow bridge in Spring of 2020. He lives on in the pages on Nomadic Knits and in our hearts. He was the goodest of naughty pups and we miss him dearly.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
